In Ayurveda we understand that our mood is something that arises from a nourished and balanced system.

Here is some of the wisdom we share with our clients and customers here at Essential Ayurveda to help them bring balance.

Strengthen Gut Health

The first place where we begin is in the gut, without a strong and balanced Digestive System we struggle to build the right building blocks that go on to create good mental health. Our gut is where our foundational health begins. We can help you support your digestive system with the following products

Florabact This great Ayurvedic Probiotic formula helps build a strong Agni Digestive Fire and thereby builds a healthy system and a healthy emotional state.

Hingwastak Helps promote proper movement and function of Vata, particularly in the colon. In Ayurveda we believe this proper flow promotes a better emotional state too.

TriphalaGently removes toxins from the body, it has multi system health benefits both strengthening and detoxifying. A clearer cleaner system helps us mentally and emotionally too.

Directly Nourish the Brain & Neurotransmitters

To support our mental health directly we can use Bright Mood. Bright Mood contains a clever blend of botanicals, amino acids and vitamins.

The main ingredient is Griffonia, which contains 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP). 5-HTP is a precursor to serotonin, a neurotransmitter that regulates mood, sleep, and appetite. This clever herb provides our brains with the building block material for it to go on and help build serotonin.

We also include Saffron extract which is a fast acting mood support. According to Ayurveda it is Tridoshic and as it’s sunny colour suggests it brings brightness and lightness to our hearts and minds.

Our practitioners have found in their clinical practice Bright Mood to be fast and effective at helping lift their clients spirits.

Brahmi and Ashwagandha Formula is another great formula to support mental health and help manage stress. It contains a range of Adaptogens all of which help us to manage stress better.

Whole System Nourishment

To nourish our whole system we can enjoy the sweet tasting Ayurvedic Jam known as Chyawanprash. This delicious jam is packed with 40 different herbs that support our whole system. It contains the special combination of the roots of 10 different plants, this combination is known as Dashamoola and it is deeply grounding. The jam is made with fresh Amla fruit which is high in antioxidants and Vitamin C. It contains other herbs that particulary strengthen the respiratory system and generally aids our assimilation of Prana. Correct flow of Prana is essential when we are thinking about our mood.

Breathe and Be Present

Through bringing our awareness into the moment, taking stock over all that is around us and elongating our breath we can change our inner and outer relationships. Staring at the sky, seeing the light dancing around us and bringing a smile whether fake or not can help initiate a change.

In Ayurveda we talk about Sattva or harmony. Inhaling the word 'So' and exhaling the word 'Hum' 10 times while gently gazing at the world around us when practice regularly can help to shift our mood.

Get Oily

Self applying oils or getting another to apply oils to our body can also help to positively influence our mood. Touch is a primal way to soothe and be soothed. Regular touch can help to change our mood. Our Mahanarayan Oil and Brahmi Oil are our top two favourite to support mental health through the skin.
