Avaleha is a semi-solid Ayurvedic preparation made by cooking herbal decoctions with jaggery or rock sugar until it reaches a jam-like consistency. The formulation is often enriched with oils, spices, and herbal powders to improve absorption and effectiveness.
The word 'Avaleha' comes from the Sanskrit root meaning 'that which is licked'. By licking it straight off the spoon the herbs start working through the gums and mouth. The stickiness of the jam helps them to remain in the mouth for longer and aids the absorption through the soft tissues of the mouth.
They are a tasty way to take a more involved herbal formula that starts working as soon as you put it in your mouth.
Unlike capsules or tablets, Avalehas offer a pleasant taste while delivering concentrated herbal benefits. This makes it especially suitable for children, elderly individuals, and those who prefer natural remedies in a palatable form. They are highly nutritive and restorative.

It is made in a base of White Gourd, Grapes and Dates and to this cognitive supporting herbs such as Brahmi, Shankhapushpi and Gotu Kola are decocted and cooked into the jam.
