Our oils can be used on their own or blended with other oils.

Vata Oil

To apply Vata Oil  we recommend firstly that you warm the oil well as aggravated or excess Vata needs warmth to pacify it. The warmth also really helps with the absorption of the oil. Then pour around a tablespoon into the palm of your hand and begin in long slow, tender and loving strokes to apply the oil to your body. Feel your body softening under the warmth of your hands and appreciating your steady touch. Vata is governed by Air and Ether so needs a ground soothing touch to steady the nervous system

Applying the oil 20 -30 minutes before a shower has two purposes. Firstly it acts as a barrier on the skin to water. So particularly in hard water areas it helps to prevent further drying of the skin from the hard water. Oil and water don’t mix so it acts as a perfect barrier. Secondly the warmth from the water actually helps the herbs within the oil to penetrate further.

Alternatively, a great time to apply Vata oil is straight before bed. That way it can soothe and serve you while you sleep. No need to wash it off. Just simply apply, step into your PJs and curl up while it works its wonders.

Vata Oil can be applied to the whole body or in localised areas. For example you can massage your earlobes or the soles of your feet before sleep and this can really help to bring the Vata down and aid sleep.

If you have a painful area or an area that cramps then you can apply the oil, gently massage it in and then put a hot water bottle on top for 20 minutes.

Vata Oil can be used to poured into your navel area or used to massage your tummy with. This can really help with poor digestion.

Pitta Oil

To apply Pitta Oil we recommend firstly that you again you warm the oil a little – it doesn’t need to be quite as warm as our Vata Oil. Then to apply use a medium pressure but not too much friction. Pitta skin already has a lot of warmth in it so we don’t need to add more. As with any oiling generating an inner feel of self-love is wonderful. Pitta oil does contain Rose in it, so it means it is soothing for the emotional heart too. So if you have been feeling angry, irritated or frustrated rubbing some Pitta Oil into your heart area can bring feelings of calm.

If you have any tendency to redness of your skin then Pitta Oil is the oil for you. Again it can be used 20 minutes before a shower or can be applied at any time and left on.

Kapha Oil

To apply Kapha Oil we recommend that firstly you warm the oil quite well. Kapha by nature is a mixture of earth and water so it is naturally cold. Warming the oil helps to counterbalance this along with the herbs in the oil. When applying the oil use vigorous strokes with good friction to wake the cells up. Kapha by its nature can tend to be slow, sticky and sludgy, so it needs some movement to help it move.

Suffering with fat cellulite on your legs and/or arms? Rub vigorously with Kapha Oil daily for 2 weeks, this can help it break down.

Sluggish lymph can really be aided with Kapha oil. You can apply the oil to your body in the manner mentioned above and then lie down on a heated mat for 5-10 minutes to help it to get moving.

Oil Blends
