Trikatu is a renowned Ayurvedic digestive compound, which raises the metabolism to eliminate toxins and ensure efficient digestion of food. Trikatu has a stimulating and heating effect on the body improving digestion and reviving, weakened organ function.

Digestion is disturbed by many different factors, such as irregular eating, over-eating, anxiety, over-exertion and eating of heavy or indigestible foods. When the digestive fire (agni) is low, food is not properly metabolised and cannot be converted into nutrients that can be absorbed into the body. It remains partially digested or undigested in the gastro-intestinal tract and leads to the accumulation of toxins (ama). This ama is a thick, sticky substance that becomes transported around the body and causes blockages in the minute channels of the body. This produces the wide range of illnesses, which stem from poor digestion such as asthma, arthritis, obesity, IBS and other digestive disorders. Trikatu formula increases the digestive fire, which then burns away these accumulated toxins and cleanses the alimentary canal.

Trikatu is also a helpful supplement for anyone suffering congestion of the respiratory system or other Kapha disorders related to the presence of excess mucus.
